Racey Engineering, PLLC is an approved Professional (Specialty, Consultant) Vendor for VDOT Construction and Surveying Projects. The Road & Bridge Specifications state that Specialty Items do not require Pre-Qualification Approval, which covers the standard pay item for Construction Surveying. Professional Specialty Work requires Licensing by DPOR in the area of specialty, appropriate recognition of the business by the State Corporation Commission, and a significant level of Professional Liability Insurance as a rider to the overall, typical VDOT minimum insurance requirements. Racey Engineering, PLLC is fully vested to meet these requirements and has provided Construction Surveying to VDOT projects on a daily basis for six years. We have been engaged on VDOT Construction Projects in the Northern Virginia, Culpeper, Staunton, and Richmond Construction Districts to date, AND;
We have been further approved to participate is a Statewide Surveying Contract as a Consultant Team Member.

Racey Engineering, PLLC has BCOM (Bureau of Capital Outlay Management) Certified Staff through the Department of General Services of the Commonwealth of Virginia. According to the Virginia.gov website, BCOM is responsible for:
- Enforcing the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code to assure compliance with life safety and code requirements in design and construction
- Providing building code, cost and procurement reviews of proposed state agency construction and capital outlay projects
- Developing policies, procedures, standards, forms, and other documents for the procurement of professional and construction services by state agencies
- Authoring and maintaining the Commonwealth of Virginia's Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM)
- Providing training and guidance on the proper application of Construction and Professional Services Manual requirements
